Nicole’s death didn’t just impact a family it devastated a community and galvanize them to help the family and each other grieve, understand and someday recover from their loss. The outpouring of love and support we received from our neighborhood, our schools, St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton, Plano, North Texas and our extended network of family and friends has been remarkable, humbling and vital to our continued survival.
We remain a community dedicated to each other and to helping children and families struggling with Type 1 Diabetes and the constant struggles that accompany it. Nothing is more devastating than the death of your child. But a community lifting you off the ground and putting you on its shoulders can give you hope that one day you might recover. You will never forget, but with help and support, you may live on.
